Ways For Children To Live A Clean Sober Life
Alcohol Addiction is a huge problem in our society today. It seems like anywhere you may go there is alcohol. It is so assessable to anyone at just about any age in life.
It breaks my heart to see children at such a young age being exposed to this highly addicting substance. They are to young to realize what will become of them in their future if starting out so young drinking alcohol.
They experience that first high or buzz and they think that they are on top of the world. Little do they know, that some of these children that thought they are on top of the world, may fall down to rock bottom in years to come.
We all know that some of the people will hate how they feel when using, and just never have the desire to try it again. But, then there are those that loved it and just want more and more.
When a certain substance is not quite strong enough to get that high or buzz they lean towards something more powerful or just take more of what they are previously using.
When all said and done they now are becoming Addicted to their drug of choice.
These young children may have been brought up around alcohol through their lives. The parent’s sometimes forget that by the children seeing this in a home, they think that if it’s alright for my parent’s it should be just fine for them too.
My family was an exception to this rule, because I also drank in front of my children and I think that it discussed them so much that neither one of them drink at all. They were smart enough to see what it was doing to me and also my family life.
When there is Alcoholism in a family everyone suffers not just the alcoholic.
Here are just a few Ways for Children to Live a Clean Sober Life.
1) Be involved with your child’s life in school.
2) Always give them 100% of your time and attention.
3) Praise them for their accomplishments and good deeds.
4) Make time to listen to them.
5) Encourage them to be active in sports and school functions.
6) Tell them how much you love them and support them in their journeys.
7) As hard as it might seem, try to encourage them to select the right friends.
In all, no one wants to live with a alcoholic, so we need to try very hard to discourage drinking and partying to our children and steer them in the right direction in life while they are young enough to be directed.
