An FRS Radio can be Great for Camping

An FRS radio can have as many uses, as there are different kinds of people with different interests.  This applies whether what you own is a Kenwood two way radio, or maybe something less expensive, or something else.  You can use it in the city, or out in the wilderness.  And when you do find yourself out in the woods, away from civilization, this type of radio really comes into its own.

If you decide to go out camping on your own, your use of the FSR radio might be more limited, especially if you really head out into the wild, so that you don’t have other campers within the range of your radio.  Still, it can at least be a little comforting to know that you have the radio as a potential means of trying to reach someone else, in the event things don’t go as planned on your camping trip.

If you decide to go camping with other people, such as your family or friends, then you’ll find that having FRS radios on hand can really make the trip much more convenient and even safer.  For instance, after setting up your base camp, you may have to go off some distance away from your tents, in order to collect firewood.

Without the radios, the people who split up will have very few choices, in order to keep tabs on each other.  But if you have the radios, then almost every step of the way, the people in camp can stay updated on how their family members or friends are doing, even if they can’t see them or hear their voices.  So if someone sprains an ankle, then at least it’s much easier to radio the camp to ask for help.

And this isn’t just about emergencies after all.  If you simply want to tell the people who’re out to get more firewood or maybe bring back more water, then it’s really easy to do so.

Fun Ideas on Camping with Kids

It is always one great idea when you go out with your family. You bring your kids to a movie house, have some ice cream and go shopping. Or have some barbeque party at your backyards and star gazing at night. Another perfect idea is going to a camp out with your family; bringing your kids along with you. For sure kids would love to play in the wild, preparing some campfire meals and other easy meals, and other fun-filled activities you can do while camping. It could be not that easy planning a camping with your kids. Well, of course, you need to have a lot of considerations for the welfare of your family on things like; should you rent a cabin or purchase a tent, the food to prepare for them, things to prepare, if the weather suits them, or the worry of forgetting the first aid kit. You know what, you should never worry all these stuff as long as you have prepared ahead of time for this. It is always nice to have fun with your kids than worrying on a lot of things. There are some great ideas that would make your kids’ camping a fun and enjoyable one.

First, GET THEM INVOLVED. It is good to involve your kids on the planning like what to prepare and what to eat during your camping. You can do some checklist, hand it over to them and let them do the checking of what should be done. They would love to keep on reminding you, parents, of those important stuff. Do not forget, they have sharper minds than you. Next, you have to prepare fun-filled activities for your kids. I know you know their interest and all. So this will not be difficult. You can try hiking for them to enjoy the beauty of the outdoor. Beforehand, never forget to try setting up the tent your purchased, have the kids help and let them have the feeling of staying in a tent. Bring some flashlights or headlights, as well as luminous sticks; not just for emergency but it could be a fun tool in one of your activities at night.

Breaking with tradition - new tent new tequilaSecond, as for the meal, try to prepare some easy and delicious meal that kids could get involve with in the preparation. You can have hotdogs and marshmallows on a stick. This is much easier to prepare and kids would find it fun heating their hotdogs on sticks in the campfire. You can have sandwiches with spreads that your kids love. Let them make their own and yours too. Try some other simple menus that your kids enjoy. It is nice eating in the outdoor, so fill your 3 way caravan fridge with food. You may also check the web on how to improve the efficiency of your camping fridge. These could be simple meals but your kids will surely love.

Third, do not forget all your repellant for the kids. Bugs and other insects are just flying around. I am sure you do not want these bugs ruin your camping experience. Though, not really to kill these insects. Kids should also learn how to respect nature.

Lastly, make your kids do some chores during your camping like collecting woods, trashes in your area, and filling water containers. You can even have it as a contest to make it fun. Thus, do not forget to bring your cameras and disposable ones for your kids to capture the memories together. Have fun!

Bonding Your Family with a Taga Bike

A Taga isn’t just a bicycle. It’s a unique mode of transportation designed with families on the go in mind. Designed to be a bicycle and a stroller rolled into one, you’ll find this incredible mode of transportation to be one of the best you’ve ever encountered. Ride it as a bicycle or convert it into a stroller for your trip through the store, onto a train, or even into an elevator. You and your family will have a blast figuring out new ways to incorporate your Taga into your daily routine.

Converting Your Child Bike Seat into a Stroller

The most stunning feature of the Taga is that it can easily be converted from a bike into a stroller. The entire process takes approximately 20 seconds, and requires no tools. You’ll simply remove the child carrier from the bike, flip the bicycle into a stroller, and add the carrier back to the frame. It’s really that simple.

Being able to convert your bicycle into a stroller is beneficial for a wide variety of reasons. Doing so makes it easy to ride your bike without having to worry about transportation for your child once you reach your end destination. Your Taga bike can be easily pushed through the mall, into a restaurant, or around the local playground. You could, if need be, even use the stroller mode around your own house.

Adapting the Taga to Your Growing Family

Whether your family grows in number, or simply in size, you’ll be able to adapt your child carrier bike to your needs. Unlike a traditional stroller or bike trailer, you will find that the Taga is useful in most households for up to 10 years – sometimes longer. The bike’s accessories make it possible to adapt your bike for use for older children, for two children at once, or even as a grocery cart.

Spending Quality Taga Time with Your Children

This innovative new bicycle was really designed with one thing in mind – giving parents and children the opportunity to spend some time together. Riding a Taga bike is an adventure every single time.

Your children will love the experience of sitting in a child bike seat positioned at the front of the cycle. Facing forward and situated between the handlebars, they’ll see the exact same scenery you do. The close proximity allows you to feel close to your child as you ride, something older bike trailer designs don’t allow for.

The Taga bike is something every family needs to have. Before long, you’ll find yourself aching for a reason to get out of the house and ride – even if you really have nowhere to go. You’ll love spending time together!

Why A Skateboard Is A Great Buy For Children

I am now a lot older than I actually feel and not so long ago I had a brief return to my younger days. I got a cheap skateboard.

It may not seem quite right for a man in his thirties but boy was it fun just gliding along. It got me to thinking about when I was young and had my first few boards. They were a lot more expensive then. Now we can buy really cheap skateboards and here is why I think all kids will do well to have to the experience.

The fact is that apart from anything else it was a great way to make new friends. I made lots of new buddies because of a cheap skateboard. Kids can interact with an activity and it is also a great skill to learn. The tricks are pretty much endless and it gives us a dedication to pursue an activity and to get better at it.

And I remembered just how exhausted I used to get. It is not a sedate activity. In fact it is rather strenuous. This makes it ideal for children to burn of energy and to actually get and stay fit. You will find that many children really take a shine to this activity and there is no doubt that it is about the most fun you can have with what is basically a bit of wood and some wheels.

If you are worried about injuries then you can get helmets and pads for protection, I did kind of break my chin a little bit, but hey, it gives a face character, right?

But safety concerns should be looked at and this is really down to ensuring that you buy a quality skateboard, just because it is cheap it does not have to be bad quality. Get a good board and it will last for years and the children will absolutely the fun the fun they can have. I just wish I had more flat land near me, being up a bumpy track is not the best place a would be skater should live.

Provide Fun for the Kids with a Trampoline

As you drive down the road there is no doubt that aside every home you see, homes with children will likely have a trampoline. They are a popular option because they are inexpensive and can provide kids fun for years. When you begin your shopping journey for a trampoline, you may quickly become overwhelmed at the numerous options available, not only for trampolines, but for all the accessories are also available for them.

The first thing you want to consider is the size of the trampoline that you need. Of course, you want to consider the size of your yard first and foremost. There is really no sense in buying a trampoline that is too large for your area, but you want to buy the largest that you can to allow for as much bounce room for the children as possible. Many people have found that the 10ft trampoline is a great size, especially if your yard does not allow for the standard size 14ft trampoline. If you go much smaller than a trampoline 10 foot, it may be too small to enjoy on a regular basis by multiple children.

The next thing you want to consider is what safety accessories you plan to purchase. All sizes of trampolines have accessories available for them. You can get netted safety enclosures that will protect the children from falling off the trampoline. The most popular accessory available is the padding that covers the springs. This can help to protect injuries from occurring by the springs.

The great thing about a trampoline is that they are a basic product, and one that does not commonly tear up; therefore, will not have to be replaced often if at all. It will last your kids or many years of fun. You can purchase the trampoline without accessories, and then later decide to buy them. For many parents they provide a peace of mind while their children are jumping, so the accessories may be a good investment from the beginning.

They Are More Than Just Swingsets

Do you remember back to when you were a kid? Not a baby or a toddler, but when you first realized that being outside was a lot of fun. There were explorations to make, trouble to get into, and a certain amount of freedom you just did not have while sitting inside staring at four walls and a tv set. Energy was released in copious amounts. It was fun.

Little did we know that those trips to the park were more than just fun. It was so much more. All the running and exploration we did was exercise for the mind and the body. Of course, the first thing we did was head for the playground, with the slides, teeter-totters, and, of course, the swing set. Oh, the swingset. It was an adventure all unto itself. If we were lucky, we had a swing set of our own that our parents set up in the backyard.

Swing Sets

No one really gives the swingset the credit it deserves. To most adults, it is just a toy, something to keep the kids busy and allow them to burn off all that childhood energy. Still, the swing set it important for children of all ages. It provides a place for exercise, for the improvement of coordination, and the building of imagination.

Think about it. When your first got on a swing, it just sat there until someone gave you a push. Then you learned to make it swing by your own power and, though you didn’t realize it, you acquired the coordination necessary to make it go higher and higher. And finally, when you could make it go really high, you learned to time your jumps to leave the swing at its apex and land safely – though not without some initial frightening moments for your parents – on the ground. Once you learned to jump, you imagined you were flying – if only for a couple of brief seconds.

As we got older, they provided a place of quiet contemplation or comfortable conversation. We may have outgrown the swinging, but not the swing set.

Swingsets of today are not like they were thirty years ago. These days they are so much more. They provide so much more for the imagination while still providing plenty of exercise. Every home should have a swing set, one that lasts, because so many wonderful moments and discoveries can happen here.
